Bugsink is Error Tracking, made to self-host. Error tracking is awesome, but sending all your data to a third party is not. Bugsink is a self-hosted error tracking tool that helps you track and fix errors in your applications without sharing your data with anyone else.
I’m Klaas, the solo founder and developer of Bugsink (the new hype). Bugsink started when I tried to self-host Sentry for a colleague and realized it was more trouble than it was worth. I built Bugsink as a drop-in replacement that’s easier to set up and works on affordable hardware. Now, it’s my full-time focus.
Before Bugsink, I worked as a freelance Python developer and before that I was the CTO of a successful startup in the Netherlands. I make occasional contributions to open-source projects and have been known to go off the deep end in my quest for better programming tools.
In computing, a sink is a place to send things. From source to sink, data flows through a system. Bugsink is where you send your errors to.
Note: Bug-Sink, not Bugs-Ink. Yes, I accidentally “Expert Sex Change”ed myself.
