About Bugsink

Bugsink is Error Tracking. It collects exceptions from running applications and shows them in a central place so developers can understand when code fails in production and why.

Bugsink can be used hosted by Bugsink or self-hosted on your own infrastructure. The same product and the same SDKs are used in both cases.

The team

I’m Klaas, the solo founder and developer of Bugsink. Bugsink started when I tried to self-host Sentry for a colleague and realized it was more trouble than it was worth. I built Bugsink as a simpler alternative focused on Error Tracking which is more affordable whether you self-host or leave that to us. Now, it’s my full-time focus.

Before Bugsink, I worked as a freelance Python developer and before that I was the CTO of a successful startup in the Netherlands. I make occasional contributions to open-source projects and have been known to go off the deep end in my quest for better programming tools.

Bugsink B.V. is based in the Netherlands. The hosted service runs in the European Union, and self-hosting is always an option if you prefer to keep all data inside your own environment.

What’s with the sink?

In computing, a sink is a place to send things. From source to sink, data flows through a system. Bugsink is where you send your errors to.

Note: Bug-Sink, not Bugs-Ink.
